Goa Congress President Amit Patkar Hits Out at Arvind Kejriwal: “Goans Will Not Forgive Opportunistic Politics”

Panaji: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar launched a scathing attack on AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of indulging in “opportunistic politics” that only helps the BJP.

Patkar said that Goa has suffered for over two decades under the BJP’s “corrupt and destructive rule” marked by land scams, unemployment, Gundaraj, and erosion of Goan identity. “Every Goan knows BJP is solely responsible for this destruction,” he stated.

He alleged that Kejriwal visits Goa only during elections — not to challenge BJP, but to target Congress and divide the Opposition vote. “His politics is not about defeating BJP, but about protecting them. That is why Goans rightly call AAP the BJP’s B-Team,” Patkar said.

Recalling the last Assembly elections, the GPCC chief remarked that AAP played only a “vote-cutting role,” with no vision or concern for Goans’ future. He stressed that while Congress has consistently stood by Goans in their struggles against unemployment, corruption, and environmental destruction, AAP has been “silent and absent” when people needed solidarity.

“Mr. Kejriwal looks away when BJP loots, stays quiet when democracy is trampled, but lands in Goa with cameras and false promises during elections,” Patkar charged.

He concluded by asserting that Congress remains the real Opposition in Goa. “We are here not for theatrics, but for struggle. Not to confuse, but to confront. Not to save BJP, but to defeat them. Opportunism may give Mr. Kejriwal headlines today, but Goans know that Congress has the spine, the history, and the vision to protect Goa’s future,” Patkar declared.
