Panjim: Former Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Girish Chodankar has raised serious concerns over the impartiality of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Goa, alleging that the officer’s social media accounts are being run from the BJP’s headquarters to serve partisan interests.
Chodankar questioned the Election Commission over the management of the CEO’s ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) and Facebook accounts, claiming that recent posts targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi amounted to a direct violation of neutrality and constitutional duty.
“This is a blatant breach of democratic ethics. The people of India must now stand up for truth, justice, and the Constitution,” Chodankar said, vowing to respond to such acts through democratic means.
He asserted that “the revolution to protect democracy has begun in India” and warned that democratic institutions cannot be allowed to be hijacked for election manipulation or to alter the foundation of the Republic. He further cautioned that those responsible for undermining democracy “will not go scot-free” and declared that the Congress will not remain silent against institutional complicity.
