Margao – Bulletin issued by the Secretary of Goa Legislative Assembly announcing Six Working Days Sixth Session of the Eighth Goa Legislative Assembly once again proved that the Announcements of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant are without any Substance and not be taken seriously. For him, BAC stands for Bhaajap Advisory Committee and not Business Advisory Committee, charged Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.

Releasing a Video of the Chief Minister briefing the Media after the Cabinet Meeting on 21st December 2023 announcing that the Schedule of the February Assembly Session will be decided by the BAC, Leader of Opposition slammed the Chief Minster for making Baseless Statements without proper application of mind and doing homework.

It is now certain that the First Six Months of 2024 will have only Six Days of Business in the Goa Legislative Assembly as the next Session is expected only in July – August 2024. This is deliberately done because the BJP Government is rattled to face the Opposition, claimed Yuri Alemao.

It is loud & clear that the BJP Government headed by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has completely failed in fulfilling its own Commitments. Government could implement hardly 34 percent of the Budget Announcements of 2022-23. This year the performance will be worst as Government could initiate process of only 10.51 percent of the Budget Announcements of 2023-24. This data is revealed by the Department of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation, pointed Yuri Alemao.

I will convene the Meeting of the Congress Legislature Party later this week followed by the Meeting of the Opposition MLA’s to discuss the Strategy for the upcoming Session. We will jointly table Questions, Zero Hour Mentions, Calling Attentions and Private Member Business. I am confident that we will collectively hold the Government to task, stated Yuri Alemao.

We will take up the issues pertaining to give additional time to the Opposition MLA’s during various Debates & Discussions, Increasing the number of Calling Attentions and giving maximum Opportunities to the Opposition during the Business Advisory Committee Meeting. We will also demand strict action against the Officials who give Incomplete, Incorrect and Misleading Replies to the Legislative Assembly Questions, stated Yuri Alemao.
