Mandrem Police have registered an FIR against six individuals for allegedly assaulting and outraging the modesty of a woman. The complainant, a resident of Mandrem, Pernem Goa, lodged a complaint against Pravin Sawant, Rajesh Sawant, Jairam Sawant, the wife of Rajesh Sawant, Ladoo Sawant, and the wife of Ladoo Sawant, all residents of Ashwem, Mandrem, Pernem Goa.
The incident occurred on 19th August 2024, around 8:00 PM at Shri Devi Bhumika Temple in Ashwem, Mandrem. According to the complainant, she was verbally abused with filthy language, followed by an assault involving slaps, kicks, and fist blows, which resulted in injuries. During the altercation, the accused allegedly touched the complainant inappropriately, thereby outraging her modesty, and threatened her with dire consequences.
The FIR has been registered under sections 352, 115(2), 75, and 351(3) r/w 3(5) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita 2023. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
