Pali, Goa: In a step aimed at improving public infrastructure and easing traffic congestion, MLA Dr. Deviya Rane performed the coconut breaking ceremony for the commencement of parking improvement works near Sateri Temple in Pali village under the Thane Panchayat.
The project, being executed along Rural Road No. 67545 at an estimated tender cost of ₹48.41 lakh, is designed to provide a well-planned and durable parking facility for devotees and local residents.
The scope of work includes strengthening the parking area with laterite stone soling, followed by the laying of a 50 mm full grout and bituminous concrete surface to create an organised and all-weather parking space. The project also includes the construction of a proper drainage system with RCC slab covers to facilitate smooth rainwater flow, prevent waterlogging, and enhance the overall usability of the area. Additional finishing and allied infrastructure works will also be undertaken as part of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rane highlighted the importance of improving basic civic infrastructure in villages to meet the growing needs of the public. The upgraded parking facility is expected to provide greater convenience to devotees visiting Sateri Temple, while also benefiting Anganwadi and school children and resolving long-pending parking issues faced by residents of the locality.
Local residents welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that the project will enhance accessibility, improve traffic management around the temple, and contribute to the overall development of the area.
