goaplusnewsMargao – Distortion in History of Chieftains Revolt in “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Exhibition & Insensitivity towards stranded Freedom Fighters due to breakdown of KTC Bus proceeding to Patradevi Martyrs Memorial, exposes the impudence of BJP Government towards History & Freedom Fighters, charged Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao.
Reacting to the Distortion of History in the Display Board at the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Exhibition organised by Government of Goa, Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao expressed complete agreement with the objection raised by the Chieftains Memorial Trust.
I strongly condemn the unpardonable act of the Government to keep the veteran freedom fighters who were proceeding to Patradevi stranded at Porvorim due to breakdown of the Kadamba Bus, Yuri Alemao said.
The publicity stunt of the BJP Government titled “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and “Har Ghar Tiranga” have in a way backfired on the BJP and exposed its disrespect towards National Flag & National Anthem. It reminds me of “India Shining” campaign of then BJP Government which eventually resulted in defeat of the BJP Government in 2004, pointed Yuri Alemao.
I demand that the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant must take action on all those responsible for distortion of history of Cuncolim Chieftains Revolt. Facts will always remain Facts and BJP Government will never succeed in creating Distortion in History. I urge that Government should check official records and should not get carried away with narratives set by rightwing political historians, stated Yuri Alemao.
It is sad that the most insensitive BJP Government could not provide proper transport to the Freedom Fighters whose sacrifice resulted in Liberation of Goa. What stopped Government in providing them with Innova Cars or Electric Kadamba Buses? questioned Yuri Alemao. The insensitivity of the BJP Government stands exposed once again, claimed Yuri Alemao.
