DIGAMBAR’S CRUEL WORDS EXPOSE HIS INSENSITIVITY AND FAILURE

Margao – Madganvcho Awaaz and Youth Leader Prabhav Naik have strongly condemned the shocking and insensitive statement made by Defector Margao MLA turned PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, who attempted to blame citizens for road accidents in Goa. Such remarks from a senior minister not only display arrogance but also reveal a complete lack of empathy towards victims and their grieving families.

Reacting to Kamat’s statement made before the media, where the PWD Minister shockingly blamed people themselves for road accidents, Prabhav Naik said the minister’s words have deeply hurt public sentiment. He also offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the two innocent persons who lost their lives in a tragic accident just two days ago, saying that such incidents should awaken the conscience of those in power, not provoke blame on the victims.

At a time when pothole-ridden roads, poor drainage, and shoddy maintenance under his very department have caused repeated accidents and immense suffering, Kamat’s attempt to shift responsibility onto citizens is nothing short of cruel. The PWD’s continued negligence in timely repairs and quality control has turned Goa’s roads into death traps, claimed Prabhav Naik.

Ironically, this is the same Digambar Kamat who, while in opposition, had vocally blamed the then government for road accidents, holding them accountable for administrative failure and demanding strict action against negligent contractors. Today, as PWD Minister, he conveniently forgets his own words and attempts to silence public criticism by shaming the victims instead, said Prabhav Naik.

This blatant hypocrisy shows how power has changed Kamat’s stance from a man who once claimed to stand with the people to one who now protects inefficiency and mismanagement within his own department. The citizens Goa deserve accountability, not arrogance; they expect safer roads, not excuses from those responsible for maintaining them, said Prabhav Naik.

Madganvcho Awaaz and Youth Leader Prabhav Naik have demanded that Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant take immediate and decisive action by dropping Digambar Kamat from the Cabinet. Goa cannot be led by ministers who insult its citizens instead of addressing their suffering. The safety, dignity, and trust of the people must come first, Prabhav Naik said.
