Panaji – Arrogant and Corrupt Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte is spending crores on Events for “Mission Total Commission” but Tourists including Small Chidren are facing dangerous conditions at Tourism Boat Rides Jetty in Panjim, charged Congress President Amit Patkar.
Releasing a video of some Tourists disembarking from a Boat below Mandovi Bridge in Panjim under dangerous conditions without wearing Life Jackets, Congress President slammed Tourism Department for throwing Tourists at Risk.
It can be seen that the Pontoon on which the Tourists are disembarking is tied to a thin rope which can get cut any moment. There is no Railing to the narrow Steps from where the Tourists are climbing up the Jetty holding Kids on their shoulders, pointed Amit Patkar.
There is complete mismanagement and chaos at the Boat Ride Jetty. Coastal Police Outpost at Divza Circle is Out of Order with Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) is covered with tarpoline and kept since its not working for last eight months. How will Rescue Operations take place without RIB? questioned Amit Patkar.
I demand that Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte must stop his big talks and stop spending public money on so-called Promotional Events and Foreign Junkets and instead focus on Safe Tourism in Goa, said Amit Patkar.
