CONGRESS PRESIDENT AMIT PATKAR OPPOSES DIRECT RECRUITMENTS

Panaji – BJP Government continues to ignore the will of the People and refuses to learn from its past recruitment scams in PWD, GMC, Health, Police and Collectorate. Congress promised fair recruitments through the Staff Selection Commission in our 2022 manifesto. We won’t allow CM Dr. Pramod Sawant to return to his fraudulent, departmental recruitment methods. Goa’s youth deserve jobs on merit, not corruption, stated Congress President Amit Patkar.

Reacting to the reports in section of media on moves of BJP Government to revert back to Departmental Recruitment Process by by-passing Staff Selection Commission, Congress President Amit Patkar warned Goan Youths not to fall prey to “Sale of Jobs”.

I appeal to Goan Youth and their Families to remember the past instances when Government had to scrap recruitment process in various departments after expose by Congress Party on corruption in recruitment process. I urge them not to get lured by fraudulent assurances of “BJP Dalals”, warned Amit Patkar.

I have information that attempts are being made to scrap Staff Selection Commission and revert back to Departmental Recruitments. This is being explored to facilitate “Sale of Jobs”. Congress is keeping a close watch on the developments. We will not allow BJP to cheat and fool educated goan youths, Amit Patkar said.

I want to remind the goans that in 2021 PWD recruitments were scrapped after Congress took up tbe issue of corruption. Then Panaji BJP MLA Atanasio Monserrate had also vindicated Congress allegation by charging then PWD Minister Dipak Pawaskar of 70 crores job scam. In 2022, direct hiring of 1300 vacancies in GMC and Health Department was challenged in the High Court. Same year, irregularities surfaced in recruitment of 145 Police Sub-Inspectors, pointed Amit Patkar.

This year again there is a Recruitment Scam reported in South Goa Collectorate. This shows that BJP Government is continuing to play with the future of educated goan youths, said Amit Patkar.

Congress condemns Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant’s attempts to revert to departmental recruitments, which are riddled with fraudulent practices. The educated youth of Goa deserve jobs based on merit, not corruption. Congress will continue to oppose any such regressive moves by the government and fight for the rights of Goa’s youth, said Amit Patkar.
