goaplusnewsPanaji: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday protested against the planned violent attacks on the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ by the Corrupt Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma and burnt his effigy.

The effigy of Hemant Biswa Sarma was burnt in protest at Congress House-Panaji. Congress supporters and leaders shouted slogans against BJP and heinous attacks.
Amit Patkar alleged that BJP is afraid of support Rahul Gandhi is receiving from ‘Bharat Jodo, Nyay Yatra’ which started from Manipur. “It is evident that BJP is afraid of Congress and the support we are receiving. Hence baffled Assam Chief Minister attacked the yatra and tried to obstruct it,” he said.
Patkar said that the Congress party in Assam has exposed the Chief Minister over corruption practices and hence he is baffled. “Our Assam PCC President Bhupen Kumar Borah was attacked and beaten. On one hand they speak about Ram Rajya and on other hand they stopped Rahul Gandhi from entering the temple,” he said.
“BJP is trying to stifle the voice of our leader Rahul Gandhi as he is raising public issues. We condemn the attack of ‘Bharat Jodo, Nyay Yatra’ by BJP in Assam,” he said.
Carlos Ferreira said that Rahul Gandhi is trying to unite people, whereas BJP in Assam is obstructing the yatra. “He should not have been stopped from entering the temple. But he was stopped as they fear that Congress will become strong,” he said, adding Assam Chief Minister is running a dictatorial regime.
Tarannum Khan said that the Assam government failed to provide security and he should apologise for the attack on yatra.
