Panaji: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has welcomed the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls under the SVEEP initiative, which covers 12 States and Union Territories, including Goa.

Dr. Sawant emphasized that a clean and transparent voter list forms the foundation of a healthy democracy. He said the state government has always supported efforts to ensure accurate and up-to-date electoral rolls that include only genuine and eligible voters.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, the Chief Minister stated that the special drive would help identify and correct discrepancies in the voter lists, remove ineligible entries, and eliminate any illegal voters or names of illegal immigrants. He added that the move will further strengthen the integrity and credibility of India’s electoral process.
