CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Inaugurates ‘Samaakalan 2.0’ National Conference on Integrative Oncology in Mumbai

12 February 2026: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated ‘Samaakalan 2.0’ – the National Conference on Integrative Oncology in Mumbai, in the presence of eminent experts from the Tata Memorial Centre (ACTREC) and the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS).

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the conference highlights the importance of integrating evidence-based AYUSH practices with modern oncology to deliver holistic and patient-centric cancer care. He emphasised that such an approach not only focuses on treatment but also addresses quality of life, mental well-being, rehabilitation and supportive care for cancer patients.

Dr Sawant stated that Goa remains committed to strengthening healthcare services, with a special focus on preventive care and innovation. He noted that the collaboration with the Tata Memorial Centre and the joint clinic initiative with the All India Institute of Ayurveda are clear reflections of the state government’s resolve to improve cancer care.

The Chief Minister further said that the government aims to make integrative cancer care affordable and accessible, ensuring a healthcare model where scientific advancement is complemented by compassion and patient welfare.
