Chief Minister Reviews 131 GGSY Proposals, Assures Balanced Development Across Goa

Panaji: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess 131 project proposals submitted under the Goa Gram Samruddhi Yojana (GGSY) of the Department of Rural Development. The review focused on ensuring timely implementation and equitable distribution of development works across the State.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized that the objective of the scheme is to ensure that the benefits of infrastructure and community development reach every corner of Goa.

Key Decisions:

Equitable Representation for All Constituencies:
The government has decided to prioritize works recommended by MLAs from all 40 Assembly Constituencies. At least one project will be undertaken in each constituency under the scheme to maintain balanced regional growth.

Additional Financial Allocation Proposed:
Apart from the existing ₹20 crore allocation, the State Government will provide additional funds in the upcoming financial year to strengthen the execution of public infrastructure and community-oriented projects under GGSY.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to grassroots development, Dr Sawant stated that the Goa Gram Samruddhi Yojana aims to accelerate local-level progress and build stronger, well-connected communities throughout the State.
