Panaji: Referring the death incident of a 5-year-old girl in Usgao, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has stated that BJP government has failed to stop crimes and has demanded thorough investigation the suspected murder case.
“It is disturbing to hear about the death of a 5-year-old girl in Usgao. If this is a murder case, the BJP government’s claims about ensuring child safety ring hollow. They have failed miserably to control crime in the state, focusing only on commissions and divisive politics instead. Law and order has broken down. The Goa police must investigate this case thoroughly,” Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao said.
He said that in past several murders of children have taken place, but despite that Home Department has failed to stop crimes.
“Conducting tenant verification will not solve the problems that Goa is facing. The Home Department needs to take a serious and proactive approach to prevent crimes in the state. Giving VIP treatment to accused individuals will only encourage criminal behavior and deny justice to victims,” Alemao said.
