Canacona, April 20 (Correspondent): Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion at the Bhagwan Parshuram Temple in Painguin, Canacona, on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. A series of religious and cultural programs were organised, throughout the day, drawing the participation of hundreds of devotees who gathered to seek the blessings of the deity.
On Sunday morning, a grand procession of Bhagwan Parshuram was taken out in a beautifully flower-decorated chariot. The procession passed through the villages of Painguin, Galgibaga, Talpona, Muthal, Sadolxem, Partagal, Galyem, Khavat, Agonda, Loliem, and Mashem before returning to the temple in the afternoon. The procession halted at various temples along the route, where devotees performed Aarti and received prasad.
In the afternoon, Maha Aarti was performed at the temple, followed by the distribution of Mahaprasad. Evening, a devotional Chakrikirtan program was presented by young artists, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. The kirtan was performed by H.B.P. Shivani Vaze, Pavan Pai Khot, Sameeksha Kurtikar, Suvarna Borkar, and Ishwari Kandolkar, who conveyed messages of social awareness through their performances.
The celebrations concluded at night with Rangavali Puja and Vasant Puja. Over the past three years, the festival has gained a more vibrant and grand status due to the support of the Government of Goa. Harish Prabhugaonkar, President of the Parshuram Panchaigram Temple Committee, stated that the valuable support of the Information and Publicity Department and the Tourism Department has been instrumental in making the event successful.
