Panaji: The Goa State Committee of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) will hold its 13th Goa State Conference on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Institute Menezes Braganza Hall in Panaji from 9.30 am onwards.
The conference will review AITUC’s activities and the struggles of working people, while discussing measures to strengthen the organisation and safeguard workers’ trade union rights. AITUC said the conference is being held against the backdrop of what it termed continuing attacks on livelihoods, changes in labour laws in favour of corporate interests and a deepening economic crisis in the country.
The conference will also discuss and adopt resolutions on various issues concerning society and workers, and will prepare for the 43rd AITUC National Conference scheduled to be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in November 2026. New office bearers and General Council members of the Goa State Committee will be elected, along with delegates to the national conference.
The General Secretary will present the socio-political and economic report covering the past four years. The programme will begin with flag hoisting by prominent leader Comrade Atmaram Gawas, followed by the condolence resolution moved by State President Comrade Prasanna Utagi.
