The Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association (AGDBYA) is all set to host the 6th edition of the Daivadnya Cricket Cup 2024 on the 10th and 11th of February at S.A.G ground, Fatorda. This exciting tournament will feature a total of 17 teams from across Goa, including two women’s teams.
The Jersey launch for this cricket extravaganza took place on Sunday, the 4th of February 2024, at 4 pm at Hotel Cosmique, Margao Railway Station Rd., Calconda, Margao. The event was graced by the presence of the main sponsors, including Yantra Developments by DGR, “Swaroop” V. S. Raikar Jewellers, Ramakant Jewellers, Anta Jewellers, “Vidya” Specialty Ultrasound Center, Lotlikars Jewellers, Adarsh Caters & Hotel Cosmique. Representatives from each participating team, the Managing Committee, Members of AGDBYA, and the media also attended the function.
Mr. Prashil Salkar, President of AGDBYA, extended a warm welcome to the guests and provided insights into the various activities and social services undertaken by AGDBYA throughout the year. These initiatives include career guidance programs, health check-up camps, book distributions to the needy, Children’s Day programs, and more.
The unveiling of the tournament trophies was a highlight, with Mr. Rohit Vernekar, Secretary, AGDBYA, and Mr. Bhushan Shirodkar, Treasurer, AGDBYA, doing the honors. Mr. Priya V. Nagvekar skillfully compared the evening’s program, and Mr. Rohit Vernekar expressed gratitude during the vote of thanks.
The stage is set for an exciting cricket spectacle that not only promises thrilling matches but also celebrates the spirit of community and sportsmanship.
