AAP Exposes BJP’s Failed Road Repair Promise; Calls CM’s 15-Day Assurance a ‘Joke on Goans’

Goans dying on pothole-ridden roads while BJP celebrates events, alleges AAP leaders during statewide protests

Panaji, November 1, 2025:
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has come down heavily on the BJP-led government for failing to repair Goa’s deteriorating roads, accusing Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant of making hollow promises. Despite the CM’s assurance that all road repairs would be completed within 15 days, AAP said no progress is visible, and the situation continues to endanger lives across the state.

As part of its campaign, AAP leaders held coordinated protests across North Goa — including at Parcem (Suvarna Harmalkar), Zhor Vaddo in Anjuna (Pujan Malvankar), and Durgavaddo in Taleigao (Herton Fernandes). The leaders condemned the government’s negligence, which they said has not only claimed lives but also tarnished Goa’s global reputation as a tourist destination.

AAP Leader Pujan Malvankar from Anjuna said,

“The BJP doesn’t care about lives lost due to potholes. Even ambulances have met with accidents because of the bad roads. It’s been weeks since the CM’s 15-day promise, but nothing has changed. The government is busy organizing PR events while Goans continue to suffer.”

In Parcem, AAP leader Suvarna Harmalkar criticized the CM for prioritizing road-widening projects over repairs.

“Goans are waiting for better roads, but instead of repairing them, the CM is demolishing Goan homes in the name of widening. Over one lakh Goans appealed under AAP’s #BJPCheBurak campaign, yet most roads remain in terrible condition.”

Meanwhile, in Taleigao, Herton Fernandes questioned the quality of roadworks and compared Goa’s infrastructure to other regions.

“You go to Malaysia, Thailand, or even Kerala — they get heavy rains too, yet their roads remain intact because there’s no corruption. In Goa, this is a 40% commission government. They care more about their cuts than the lives of people.”

AAP has demanded that the BJP government:
• Release a district-wise status report on road repairs promised under the CM’s 15-day assurance.
• Hold contractors accountable for substandard work done before the monsoon.
• Focus on governance rather than photo-op events.

The party reiterated that it will continue its state-wide #BJPCheBurak campaign until every Goan road is repaired and made safe for commuters.
