Palekar has extended the invitation to the officials, urging them to determine the time, choose a public venue, and confirm their participation, with the expectation that GSUDA (Goa State Urban Development Agency) will also join the discussion.

Palekar’s open challenge comes in the wake of growing concerns among the public regarding the Smart City Panaji initiative and allegations of corruption surrounding its implementation. The project, aimed at transforming Panaji into a technologically advanced and sustainable city, has been marred by delays and controversies.

Amit Palekar, known for his vocal stance on public issues, has been consistently highlighting the alleged irregularities and lack of transparency in the execution of the Smart City Panaji project. The debate is expected to delve into crucial aspects such as the progress of infrastructure development, utilization of funds, adherence to project timelines, and the overall impact of the Smart City Panaji initiative on the lives of the residents. Corruption allegations surrounding the project, if proven true, could further intensify the discourse and raise questions about the integrity of those involved.

While the government officials are yet to respond to Amit Palekar’s challenge, the invitation has already generated significant interest among the public and political circles in Goa. Many citizens are hopeful that a public debate of this nature will lead to greater accountability, transparency, and ultimately, a more effective implementation of the Smart City Panaji project.
