Panaji, June 13 – Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged parents to ignore scam calls alleging child kidnappings, reassuring that his government is collaborating with the Centre to block Virtual Private Network (VPN) channels used for these calls.

During a media briefing, CM Sawant clarified that no kidnappings have occurred in Goa. “I have verified with the Home Department that these scam calls are coming from the +92 code (Pakistan). No one should panic or give money,” Sawant stated.

He explained that the calls are routed through VPNs from various countries. “We have taken all necessary security measures following complaints to the Cyber Crime branch, which is actively investigating. We are in talks with the Central government to block these scam calls,” he added.

Director General of Police Jaspal Singh recently posted on ‘X’, advising citizens to avoid responding to any messages or requests from the +92 number, identifying it as originating from Pakistan.
