Ponda: Prakash Chodankar, a 58-year-old motorcycle pilot from Satarda-Maharashtra residing in Kavlem-Ponda, was tragically crushed to death by a crane near the underpass at the Kadamba bus stand in Ponda on Tuesday morning.

This incident added to the family’s sorrow, coming just 15 days after the death of Chodankar’s mother-in-law.

Incident Details:

Sources report that Chodankar had been a motorcycle pilot at the bus stand for several years. Due to his mother-in-law’s recent death, he had not been at the KTC bus stand in Ponda for the past 15 days and only returned on Tuesday morning.

The Ponda police promptly arrived at the scene and arrested the crane driver, Rajeev Rajendra Kumar, a 20-year-old from Bihar. Chodankar’s body was sent for an autopsy at the South Goa District Hospital before being handed over to his relatives. The final rites were performed at the Varkhande crematorium on Tuesday evening.
