Goa Traffic Police Crack Down on Violators in Special Night Drive

The Superintendent of Police, Traffic, Goa, has announced the results of a special enforcement drive targeting traffic violators. Conducted from May 22 to May 25, 2024, between 18:00 and 22:30 hours, the operation led to the booking of 879 violators, with a focus on nighttime infractions.

Key violations included:

  • Drunken Driving: 41 cases
  • Dangerous Driving: 6 cases
  • Helmet Non-Compliance: 100 cases
  • Improper Headlights: 147 cases
  • Dazzling Lights: 133 cases
  • Tinted Glass: 40 cases
  • Dangerous Parking: 127 cases
  • No Entry Violations: 47 cases
  • Improper Number Plates: 61 cases
  • Other Violations: 177 cases

Overall, a total of 70 drunken driving incidents were recorded during the four-day period, and the comprehensive operation resulted in 4,885 violations being booked. Superintendent Rahul Gupta, IPS, emphasized the department’s commitment to enhancing road safety and reducing nighttime traffic offenses in Goa.
