Panaji – On 13/08/2022 at Leela Gardens, Colvale – Goa a special celebration programme was organised by Mapusa Sub-Division, Goa Police for senior citizens living in Mapusa sub division.
It was an initiative by the government of India to mark the 75 years of independence and to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of its people.
SDPO Mapusa informed that it is a tribute to all those people who have helped India to realize its potential and further strengthen the vision of India 2.0 which is the Atmnirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). Officially, Aazaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav started on 12th March 2021 and shall end on 15th August 2022.
Cheif Guest for the day was Hon’ble Fisheries, Animal husbandry and Dairy Minister Shri Nilkanth Halankar along with Shri. Jaspal Singh, IPS Director General of Police, Goa, Shri Omvir Singh, IGP along with Superintendent of Police, North Goa – Shobhit Saksena, SDPO Mapusa Jivba Davi along with Anjuna PI Prashal Dessai, Colvale PI Somnath Mahajik and other police staff attended the event.
The programme was launched by SP north Shobit Saxena in the presence of SDPO mapusa Jivba dalvi and other officers.
Program started with the arrival of Senior Citizens, began with a Health Camp organised by RG Hospital, Porvorim. An entertainment program of magic show specially for senior citizens was also organised which followed by versions entertainment programmes and other events.
The programme continued by introducing the special greeting cards meant for senior citizens. In the midst of the event the Natinal Flag of India was distributed to all the senior citizens present meant for hoisting it on their respective homes.
The event was concluded with karaoke singing and lunch for the guests and the senior citizens.
SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi informed that it was very satisfying to see so many senior citizens gracing the event and thanked all of them for making the event a success.
