500 METERS DRUG FREE ZONE REFLECTS RAVAN RAJYA GOVERNANCE – PRABHAV NAIK

Margao – “A 500 metre Lakshman Rekha has been drawn around schools. Surely the drug peddlers will respect it! Ground reality? Drugs Tumchya Daari!” said Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik, taking a jibe at the Education Department circular.

Naik questioned, “If law enforcement agencies with all their powers cannot control the drug menace, how will school headmasters? Headmasters are educators, not police officers, and cannot be expected to guard a 500 metre perimeter.”

Calling it a reflection of “Ravan Rajya governance”, Prabhav Naik said Goa needs action, not paperwork. “If the Government truly wants a drug free Goa, it must enforce the law against those selling drugs instead of expecting school headmasters to do the job of law enforcement agencies.”

He said drug peddlers do not follow government drawn boundaries. “They do not carry measuring tapes to check whether they are 499 or 501 metres from a school. The Government must act against the supply chain instead of drawing symbolic Lakshman Rekhas,” stated Prabhav Naik.

“Students need protection through strong policing, intelligence and action against drug networks. A circular cannot make Goa drug free. The Government must protect our children by going after the drug peddlers, not by passing the responsibility to schools,” said Prabhav Naik.
