Goa, September 28, 2025: The 19th Global Communication Conclave of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) was held in Goa on September 26-27, 2025. The conclave brought together leading luminaries from government, media, corporate, academia, and the creative industries to discuss the evolving landscape of communication and its transformative role in shaping society, governance, and business.
The conclave was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju who emphasized the importance of safeguarding credibility, authenticity, and ethical standards in communication. In his inaugural address, the Governor highlighted the critical role of communication in building trust and fostering transparency in governance and business.
On the evening of the inaugural day, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa attended the Chanakya Award function and gave away a few awards. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized that this year’s theme, “Power of PR: Emerging Waves of Communication,” highlights how innovation, digital transformation, and authentic engagement are redefining communication practices. He invited delegates to continue setting benchmarks for excellence, fostering ethical practices, and building communication strategies that serve business and society.

Notable guests included Pramod Shetty, Film Producer; Rtn. Dr. Srinivasan; Kaayan Kalthia, Executive Director of KosolEnergie, Ahmedabad; and Professor Mathew Hibberd, Dean of Faculty of Communication, Switzerland. Their presence added depth and diversity to the conversations at the Conclave.
The two-day event featured wide-ranging deliberations on themes such as Public Relations and Technology, PR and Leadership, Politics and Communication, Youth Engagement, and Global Communication. Thought leaders, academicians, corporate professionals, and TEDx speakers shared experiences and actionable insights on the future of communication.
The Chanakya Awards recognized excellence in communication, with notable winners including Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), who won the Chanakya Award for CEO of the Year (Joint Ventures). Irfan Rashid, Corporate Communications Professional at REC Limited, received the Chanakya Jury Special Award for Promising Corporate Communicator of the Year. VSR Naidu was inducted into the prestigious “Hall of Fame in PR” for his remarkable contributions to the field.
The PRCI Excellence Awards 2025 drew participation from over 100 leading corporates nationwide, honoring outstanding contributions in corporate and brand communication. The awards ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar, Hon’ble Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, as the Chief Guest.
The PRCI Goa Chapter played a pivotal role in organizing the conclave, showcasing the region’s vibrant communication landscape. Under Deepak Narvekar’s leadership, the team worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success, bringing together diverse stakeholders and providing a platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration. The conclave was a success with support from the Members of PRCI Goa Chapter including, Mr. Waman Prabhu, Mr. Gurunath Pai, Mr. Nikhil Wagh, Smt. Kalika Bapat, Smt. Nikita Chodankar, Mr. John Agular, Mr. Anant Joshi, Mr. John Samuel, Mr. Raj Britto, Mr. Vrundavan Raikar and Mr. Sandeep Kamble.
PRCI senior members organised this prestigious conclave with local support from the Goa Chapter. The Art and Culture Department, Govt. of Goa put up a grand traditional folk dance performance, Gomantarang, on the first day evening.
