19 June 2025:
Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has launched a scathing attack on Indoco Remedies Ltd and the Goa government over the company’s decision to hold job interviews outside the state for positions based in Goa. In a strongly worded post, Sardesai declared, “Enough is enough!” accusing the company of repeatedly ignoring local Goan youth and holding recruitment drives in cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad.

He labeled Indoco Pharma as a “repeat offender” and said they were “knowingly bypassing Goan youth and treating locals as if they don’t exist.” Sardesai didn’t spare the state government either, calling it “too weak and too complicit” to stop such discriminatory practices. He recalled that it was only after intervention by his party last year that the company was forced to cancel similar interviews.

Putting both Indoco and the BJP-led Goa government “on notice,” Sardesai warned, “If you think Goemkars can be taken for granted, think again.” He said the exclusion of Goans from job opportunities in their own land was an insult, and cautioned that if the trend continues, locals might be forced to “take the law into their own hands and shut the gates of any company that excludes Goans.”

The post has sparked outrage among Goans and reignited the debate on the state’s failure to ensure job opportunities for its youth. Sardesai’s hard-hitting remarks underscore growing public resentment over the government’s inaction and corporate apathy towards local employment.
