Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has expressed strong opposition to a recent advertisement by a builder encouraging people from across the country to “conquer” Goa, calling it highly offensive and an affront to Goemkars. Sardesai criticized the ruling BJP government in Goa for shaping the state to suit the needs and desires of outsiders while neglecting local interests. He further pointed out that the Chief Minister’s invitation to people from Maharashtra and Karnataka for the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, while in the spirit of Goemkarponn, should not come at the expense of Goans’ fundamental rights. Sardesai urged the government to stop sending the message that Goans are weak pushovers and to prioritize protecting Goa’s identity and people.
