Panaji: Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has launched a scathing attack on the Pramod Sawant-led BJP government, alleging that corruption has become so deeply entrenched in the system that even its own ministers are now speaking out in frustration.
Reacting to a recent statement by Cabinet Minister Govind Gaude — who claimed that contractors are forced to pay bribes to get their files cleared — Sardesai remarked that this was not a shocking revelation but a reflection of the growing discontent within the ruling establishment itself.
“As an insider, Gaude’s remarks highlight the dangerous extent to which the BJP government has institutionalised corruption across all departments,” said Sardesai. He pointed out that he has exposed several scams over the years, both big and small, which he claims have pushed Goa towards irreversible damage.
Sardesai also called for stern action from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, noting that since Gaude referred to a department under the CM’s charge, Goans are waiting to see if any accountability will follow. “Or will the cabinet continue to wear the badge of being ‘the most corrupt government Goa has ever seen’ with pride?” he questioned.
