Tourism Minister & Porvorim MLA Shri Rohan A. Khaunte Leads Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Celebrating Nari Shakti and Highlighting Benefits of Government Welfare Schemes

Socorro, September 29, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Goa, organised the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan – Goa Ujjwala Yojana Vachanpurti and Nari Shakti Mahotsav at Socorro Panchayat Hall on Tuesday, bringing together beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes to share their experiences and highlight the impact of government initiatives specially for women and families.

The dignitaries also visited the Rangoli Exhibition, where Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, along with BJP Goa State President Shri Damodar Naik, Saligao MLA Shri Kedar Naik, Zilla Panchayat Member Shri Sandip Salgaonkar, Shri Amit Asnodkar, Sarpanch of Penha de França Shri Sapnil Chodankar, and Sarpanch of Socorro Sou Sonia Pednekar, took a round of the exhibition and appreciated the creative participation of local women and community members. A major theme exhibition showcasing the major infrastructure and development projects undertaken by the government was organised at the venue, highlighting the progress of government.

The programme commenced with Vande Mataram, followed by the ceremonial watering of a Tulsi plant and observances dedicated to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Bharat Mata. Women beneficiaries who received assistance under scheme Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana shared their experiences and expressed appreciation for the support received.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, said, “The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is being organised as part of the month-long celebrations marking the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from September 17 to October 17. Our focus is to ensure that government schemes reach every eligible beneficiary. Through initiatives such as Griha Aadhar, Dayanand Social Security Scheme, Laadli Laxmi, Mamta and other welfare programmes, we are working to provide financial and social support to women, senior citizens, families and other sections of society.”

Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa & MLA, Porvorim, said, “The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan reflects the spirit of Antyodaya, where the benefits of every welfare scheme must reach the last mile and every eligible beneficiary. Under the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the focus on Nari Shakti has created opportunities for women to become economically empowered and self-reliant. When a woman becomes Saksham, her family, village and community become stronger, contributing directly to the progress of the nation. From Griha Aadhar, Ladli Laxmi and Ujjwala Yojana to support for Self-Help Groups and women’s entrepreneurship, the BJP-led double-engine government is committed to effective implementation and ensuring that the benefits reach the people. Our approach is guided by the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’, and our aim is to translate every assurance into Jan Seva and every scheme into tangible benefits for the people.”

State President of BJP Goa, Shri Damu G. Naik, underlined that “Observing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday through service-oriented initiatives like Seva Sankalp is the most meaningful tribute we can offer. Over the past decade, we have witnessed truly transformative governance where robust infrastructure development since 2012 has gone hand-in-hand with holistic human development, powerfully driving forward our shared vision of a Viksit Bharat 2047.”
The programme was attended by Hon’ble Chairperson of the North Goa Zilla Parishad and Zilla Panchayat Member, Reis Magos, Smt. Reshma Sandeep Bandodkar; President, Porvorim BJP Mandal, Shri Vinit Parab; BJP Mahila President, Smt. Neha Kerkar; BJP Saligao Block President, Shri Gaurish Madkaikar; Zilla Panchayat Member, Penha de França, Shri Sandeep Salgaonkar; Zilla Panchayat Member, Socorro, Shri Amit Asnodkar; Sarpanch, Socorro Village Panchayat, Smt. Sonia Pednekar; Sarpanch, Penha de França Village Panchayat, Shri Swapnil Chodankar; along with panch members from Socorro, Penha de França and Salvador do Mundo, other elected representatives, BJP office-bearers, beneficiaries and members of the public.
The programme concluded with the tokens of appreciation to women beneficiaries. The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening last-mile delivery of welfare initiatives, supporting women and families, and ensuring that eligible citizens remain connected with government schemes and services.
