The Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the Crime Branch which is investigating the land grabbing in Goa has given the Justice V.K Jadhav Commission of Inquiry details of the land grabbing and cheating by the Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar who in March last year was elected on a MGP ticket and is now supporting the ruling government having been appointed as Chairman of the Goa Housing Board.
In his affidavit filed before Justice V.K.Jadhav Commission, the SIT Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Pritesh Dinanath Madgaonkar has given details on the manner in which Jit Arolkar grabbed land admeasuring 1,48,800.00 sq. mtrs situated at Village Dhargal in Pernem of which Mapusa based Rawloo Khalap currently residing in California is a co-owner.
PSI Madgaonkar in his affidavit has stated that the accused Jit Arolkar based on the Power of attorney of the heirs of one co-owner took over the affairs of the property and illegally created approximately 200 plots in the undivided property and fraudulently executed sale deeds with third parties while selling the entire property without the consent of all the co-owners.
PSI Madgaonkar in his affidavit has further stated that Jit Arolkar developed the property and sub-divided it without obtaining any permissions from the Competent authority and with an intention to cheat co-owner Rawloo Khalap misrepresented in the sale deeds that the vendors he was representing were the sole and exclusive owners in possession of the property while cheating Rawloo Khalap and the purchasers of the plots.
Denying that no action has been taken on the complaint filed by Rawloo Khalap, the PSI Pritesh Madgaonkar in his affidavit has stated that the F.I.R has been registered against Jit Arolkar and is under investigation.
The matter will now come up for hearing before the Justice V.K.Jadhav Commission on April 10th when PSI Madgaonkar will be cross examined by Adv. Aires Rodrigues representing Rawloo Khalap who on 4th July last year had filed a complaint with the Special Investigation Team at Crime Branch giving complete details of the land grabbing done by the Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar with political patronage and in connivance with the Pernem revenue officials.
A Division Bench of the Bombay High Court at Goa comprising of Justice M.S Sonak and Justice B.P Deshpande on 1st March had dismissed the petition filed by Jit Arolkar last year seeking quashing of the F.I. R against him in connection with this land grabbing case.
