goaplusnewsPanjim, August 15th – Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Goa and CSC eGovernance Services India Ltd are delighted to announce the signing of a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a partnership that will facilitate the implementation of various e-governance initiatives and services across rural areas in Goa.
Fostering Rural Digital Empowerment with The Gramin Mitra Initiative – A Door Step Delivery of Government Services, a landmark program by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Goa, aimed at bridging the digital divide and promoting digital empowerment in rural Goa. As Gramin Mitra was introduced, the MoU was signed as a significant step towards solidifying the partnership between the DITE&C, Goa and CSC eGovernance Services India Ltd.
The MoU was signed by Shri. Sanjay Kumar Rakesh, MD & CEO of CSC eGovernance Services India Ltd and Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director, Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Goa, during a formal ceremony held at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan-Dona Paula, Goa.
The launch function was inaugurated at the esteemed hands of Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, in the distinguished presence of Shri. Rohan Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for IT, E&C, Printing & Stationery, and Tourism, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Tourism Gov. Of India, Shri. Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha), Shri. Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Shri. Praveen Volvotkar, MD ITG and Shri. Sanjay Goel, Secretary Tourism, and IT.
The presence of such esteemed individuals and the support of the Hon’ble Chief Minister amplifies the importance of this partnership and showcases the commitment of the government towards advancing digital initiatives for the welfare of its citizens. This collaboration sets the stage for a constructive and innovative approach to bridge the digital divide and empower rural communities with access to essential services, information, and opportunities that can significantly transform their lives.
The MoU aims to explore and implement innovative initiatives in the field of digital inclusion and rural development across Goa. The parties will collaborate on various projects, including the delivery of government services, digital literacy programs, and the establishment of Digital Villages. The attendees also actively participated in engaging discussions and deliberations on strategies and steps to ensure the successful implementation of the joint initiatives.
CSC eGovernance Services India Ltd. brings a wealth of experience and expertise in delivering digital services to citizens and empowering rural communities through its nationwide network of Common Service Centers (CSCs). The Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, on the other hand, has been at the forefront of promoting digital literacy and enabling technology-driven development in the state.
