The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has filed a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime Police Station in Ribandar against the circulation of a fraudulent video and manipulated image falsely linking party president Manoj alias Tukaram Parab to the Asthagandha Credit Society Scam.
Vishvesh Sham Naik, RGP General Secretary, submitted the complaint on behalf of the party, alleging that the defamatory content is being widely circulated on social media platforms, including YouTube, WhatsApp, and Facebook. According to the complaint, the video falsely claims that Mr. Parab’s father was involved in the scam — a claim RGP categorically denies, asserting that the individual mentioned in the video is unrelated to Mr. Parab.
The party further stated that a manipulated image falsely linking Parab and his family members to the scam is being circulated with malicious intent to damage his personal and political reputation, and create confusion among the public.
The complaint identifies three individuals allegedly involved in the circulation and promotion of the fake content:
1. Menino Desouza – WhatsApp Group: RGP Santa Cruz
2. Ajit Sawant – WhatsApp Group: Assagao
3. Mark Dacost – WhatsApp Group: Christian MinorityCOM
RGP claims the actions of these individuals constitute serious offences under multiple legal provisions, including:
• Section 354 (Defamation) and Section 357 (Public mischief) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023
• Section 66D and 67 of the IT Act, 2000 (Impersonation and misinformation online)
The party has urged authorities to:
• Trace the IPs and admins of social media groups
• Direct YouTube and other platforms to remove the video
• Initiate legal proceedings against those responsible
• Launch a cyber-awareness drive to counter the spread of misinformation
RGP emphasized that the misinformation not only damages the personal image of Mr. Parab but also threatens the party’s credibility among the Goan public.
The complaint includes video links, screenshots, and supporting evidence. RGP has expressed full cooperation with the investigation and urged immediate action.
