24th August 2023: Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways(MoPSW), Government of India and Mormugao Port Authority(MPA) is set to host a pre-event roadshow in Goa, paving the way for the highly anticipated 3rd Global Maritime India Summit 2023 (GMIS). The roadshow is scheduled to take place on 25th August 2023 at Goa Marriott Resort, Miramar, Panjim, Goa at 1900 hrs and will bring together the top minds in the maritime sector, catalyzing discussions on opportunities, innovation, and a path towards a thriving and sustainable future.
GMIS is the successful flagship initiative of MoPSW for accelerating advancement and growth in the maritime sector. While promoting new opportunities and collaborations, GMIS brings together the key maritime stakeholders from across the globe on one common platform to discuss, deliberate and chart the roadmap for the future of the sector. MoPSW is envisaging Rs 10 lakh crore investment in port projects which will generate employment for 20 lakh persons & unlock annual revenue potential for major ports worth over Rs20,000 crores.
Dr. Pramod Sawant – Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, will grace the occasion and will be joined by Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways of India; Shri Mauvin Godinho, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Industries, Panchayat Raj & Protocol, GoG. and Shri Rohan Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Information Technology, Printing & Stationary, GoG. A special video message from The Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways & Ministry of Ayush, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, will be displayed during the said event.
Anchored by the Mormugao Port Authority, the Goa roadshow is a precursor to the third Global Maritime India Summit later this year, which will assemble government dignitaries, industry captains, maritime stakeholders, and enthusiasts.
