In a landmark effort to bolster safety and security, the North Goa District Police, under the directives of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and DGP Alok Kumar, conducted a record-breaking tenant verification drive in October. The month saw an impressive 55,026 tenant verifications, pushing the total count for the year past the 1 lakh mark.
This monumental achievement is attributed to the relentless dedication of police personnel across North Goa’s stations, who have been working tirelessly to ensure the community remains safe from potential threats. Tenant verification is a key aspect of law enforcement, helping identify individuals with criminal records and ensuring accountability among tenants and landlords.
Reports are being submitted to Deputy Collectors against property owners who have rented their premises without proper verification, highlighting the government’s commitment to maintaining strict security protocols. With the peak tourist season and significant events like the Exposition approaching, the police plan to intensify these drives to address the increased security challenges.
