Margao: The Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Friday inspected the sites of proposed projects of the Urban Health Centre and Sports Auditorium at Mokim Cuncolim and stated that he is committed to bring these projects to reality.
The officials of GSIDC and other concerned departments were present on the occasion, while the inspection of both the sites near KTC bus stand were carried out.
Recalling that his father, former Minister Joaquim Alemao had also planned to bring the Heath Centre here, Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao said that the promise he had made to the locals will soon be fulfilled. “To meet the demand of a growing population and as thousands of workers are engaged in industrial units, this Health Centre is essential. Hence, we had initiated its process and it has almost ready to float a tender. I am optimistic that this work will start soon,” Alemao said.
He said that it will be a 16-bedded Urban Health Center and most of the facilities will be provided to the public. “Even for injury we have to rush to District Hospital in Margao. Hence there was a need for the Urban Health Centre,” he added.
Alemao emphasized that most facilities will be available to the public, filling a critical gap in healthcare services.
Alemao said that Sports auditorium will also be constructed in this area. “The proposed Sports Auditorium will provide a platform for local youth to develop and showcase their talents. These initiatives will revolutionize healthcare and sports infrastructure, greatly benefiting the locals. I am thankful to my Cuncolinkars for supporting such projects, which are in the interest of all,” Alemao said.
