Greater Noida: Goa’s young talents, Erica and Giovanna de Sequeira, brought glory to the state with their exceptional performance at the ADCC National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024.
14-year-old Erica J. de Sequeira clinched the silver medal in the Girls -50 kg (No-GI) category, displaying outstanding technique and determination. Meanwhile, her 10-year-old sister, Giovanna de Sequeira, secured a silver medal in the Girls -32 kg (No-GI) category, impressing everyone with her skill and competitive edge.
Training under International Coach Ronnyy (Raunak Singh), the siblings credited their coach’s expertise and advanced training methods for their success. Giovanna, inspired by her elder sister Erica, followed her footsteps into the sport. Notably, Erica has already participated in 15 international championships, setting a benchmark for aspiring athletes.
The de Sequeira sisters’ achievements highlight their dedication and discipline, serving as an inspiration for other young Goans to pursue Jiu-Jitsu. Their victory has made Goa proud and emphasized the growing prominence of the sport in the region.
