1. Theft at Baga Beach (Calangute PS)
• Case: A theft was reported by Mohammad Junaid from Bangalore. On September 8, 2024, his belongings were stolen near St. Anthony Shack at Baga Beach. The items included a OnePlus Nord CE 5G phone, silver jewelry, Rs. 47,000 in cash, important documents, and other personal effects.
• Status: The case is being investigated by PSI Vishwajit Dhavalikar.
2. Unnatural Death – ICU Fatality (Calangute PS)
• Case: Fatma Khatoon, age 53, passed away on November 3, 2024, at GMC Hospital after sustaining a head injury from a fall at her residence in September.
• Status: A case of unnatural death has been registered and further inquiries are underway.
3. Unnatural Death – Infant Fatality (Panaji PS)
• Case: Rishika Gupta, a three-month-old infant from Caranzalem, Panaji, passed away on November 2, 2024, in GMC Hospital.
• Status: An investigation into the unnatural death is ongoing.
South Goa Incidents:
1. Obscene Video Circulation (Verna PS)
• Case: Two men, Dayasagar Kashyap and Neeraj Kumar from Sancoale, Goa, are accused of circulating an obscene video of a woman, defaming and insulting her.
• Status: The accused have been issued notices, and further investigations are being led by PI Melson Colaco.
2. Arrest in 2015 Assault Case (Verna PS)
• Case: Placid D’ Costa, a Curtorim resident, was arrested on November 3, 2024, after being intercepted at Mopa Airport. He had an outstanding warrant for assaulting police personnel in 2015 and failed to attend trial hearings.
• Status: The accused has been taken into custody.
3. Unnatural Death – Suicide in Hostel (Ponda PS)
• Case: Jivya Khati, a 19-year-old student at IIT Farmagudi, was found deceased in her hostel room in a suspected suicide case on November 3, 2024.
• Status: Investigations are ongoing, and the deceased’s body was returned to her family following an autopsy.
4. Unnatural Death – Drowning in Lake (Colva PS)
• Case: Bhimappa Yashavant Bhagodi, 40, was found dead in Tolleband Lake, Benaulim, on November 3, 2024. He had been reported missing and was known to have issues with alcoholism.
• Status: The death is under investigation, with no foul play suspected.
