The Government of Goa has constituted a task force to review the current infrastructure status of Kala Academy and provide recommendations for its improvement and upgradation. The task force will be chaired by theatre artist Shri Vijay Kenkre, with several prominent members from different fields. These include Shri Tomazinho Cardozo, Shri William Fernandes, Shri Praveen Gaonkar, Shri Satish Gawas, Shri Devidas Amonkar and Shri Francis Coelho representing Kala Rakhonn Mand, and a representative from the Charles Correa Foundation.
The task force also includes the Chief Architect of the Government of Goa, the Director of Art & Culture, the MS Kala Academy, Smt Mrunal Walke (GM ESG), and Shri Santosh Mhapne, CE (PWD), who will act as the Member Secretary. Shri Prasad Lolayekar, IAS, Secretary of Education, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer to coordinate between the Government and the Committee.
This initiative aims to ensure the comprehensive enhancement of Kala Academy’s infrastructure to better serve the cultural and artistic community of Goa.
