In a meticulously planned operation conducted by Pernem police in the late hours of 02/06/2024, one individual was apprehended in connection with a significant drug raid. The accused, identified as Mr. Akash S/o Rajesh Sancheti, aged 30 and a resident of Arambol Pernem Goa, was found in possession of a substantial quantity of narcotics. The raid uncovered 770 grams of Ganja and 0.6 grams of suspected Ecstasy tablets, with an estimated street value of approximately Rs. 86,000. An FIR has been lodged against Mr. Akash under sections 20(b)(ii)(A) and 22(a) of the NDPS Act.
The raiding team, comprised of dedicated officers including PSI Tukaram Chodankar, Navneet Goltekar, PC Prajot Mayekar, and Shashank Shakhalkar from Pernem police station, executed the operation with precision and efficiency. Following his arrest, Mr. Akash was promptly presented before JMFC Pernem, where four days of Police Custody were granted for further interrogation and investigation.
Under the supervision of Pi Sachin Lokre, SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi, and SP North Akshat Kaushal, IPS, the investigation is progressing diligently. The authorities are committed to unraveling any potential networks involved in the illegal drug trade, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
