Giriraj Pai Vernekar, the official spokesperson of BJP Goa, criticized Congress leaders in Goa for their remarks on the mourning protocol following the death of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. In his statement, Vernekar pointed out that while Congress leaders, including Bhai Khalap and Girish Chodankar, delivered sermons on the importance of observing a mourning period, their party leader Rahul Gandhi was reportedly in Vietnam celebrating the New Year. He questioned whether the Goa Congress had “an ounce of shame left,” calling out the perceived contradiction in their statements and actions.
