Amit Patkar, President of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, has strongly condemned RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that “India did not get independence in 1947,” calling it an insult to the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and a direct attack on the Constitution of India.

Patkar criticized the BJP and its Sakha-trained Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for attempting to deflect the issue and misguide the people of Goa by diverting attention from Bhagwat’s treasonous statement. He accused Sawant of prioritizing political loyalty over national pride, further eroding public trust.

“Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party have always upheld the values of justice, equality, and the Constitution. We will not tolerate any attempt to undermine the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom,” Patkar stated.

The Congress Party demands that Bhagwat and the BJP clarify their stand on this outrageous statement, and urges the people of India to see through such divisive and anti-national rhetoric.
