Margao – Citizens of Margao are facing hardships in getting their small works done through various government departments due to Margao MLA Digambar Kamat’s Diktat to government officials not to entertain any applications without his consent. After defection, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat has become a dictator, charged Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.
Addressing a press conference coinciding with the second anniversary of the defections of eight Congress MLAs led by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, youth leader Prabhav Naik slammed Margao MLA for putting Madganvkars to shame by murdering the Democracy and Constitution of India. His defection was only for Self Promotion, said Prabhav Naik.
Youth Leader Prabhav Naik showed various Videos where Margao MLA Digambar Kamat is seen raising question on Credibility of Media when he was confronted on his plans to join BJP. This man has not only insulted Media and Citizens of Margao but has disrespected Almighty God, said Prabhav Naik.
Margao MLA maintained silence over misappropriation of funds in Margao Municipality. Few days back CM Dr. Pramod Sawant said that Government led by Digambar Kamat from 2007-2012 was Lootmar Sarkar. This shows that Margao MLA is promoting Corruption, Prabhav Naik said.
I feel ashamed to tell my friends who come from outside that my city was once represented by the Chief Minister of Goa. Margao MLA Digambar Kamat is totally responsible for the mess in the city on all fronts. He could not do anything when he was the Chief Minister and is now focusing only on promoting “Family Raj”, stated Prabhav Naik.
South Goa District Hospital did not get complete during his term. The said Hospital is still not fully functional. People are facing problems but Margao MLA is silent. He could not inaugurate the South Goa District Collectorate Complex during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Goa. The sub-standard work of the said Complex is now haunting the Citizens. The much hyped Musical Fountains at Ana Fonte Garden are gathering dust. Multi-Level Parking project has not seen the light of the day, stated Prabhav Naik.
Margao New Market is in danger zone as there is no Fire fighting system in place. Margao MLA has failed to make optimum use of the space of Old Pickup Stand. The so called Beautification of Historical Lohia Maidan has resulted in reduction of size of the stage causing inconvenience to the people. The historic place is in darkness during the night. The current status of Kadamba Bus Stand is the living example of incompetency and incapability of Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, claimed Prabhav Naik.
Traffic Management is in a mess. Illegal Hawkers who are patronized by the Margao MLA have captured each and every lane of Margao. One can see the mess on Old Station Road, Khareband Area and Road from Raviraj Hotel to Rawanfond Junction. All Traffic islands have become Eyesores. Margao MLA has reduced his stature to that of a Municipal Councillor by inaugurating works of drains and gutters, pointed Prabhav Naik.
Madganvkars have realised that the time has come to give voluntary retirement to Margao MLA Digambar Kamat who is now in his seventies and could not do anything constructive in last 30 years of his political career. The result of the last Lok Sabha elections is the testimony of the mood of Madganvkars, said Prabhav Naik.
