Panaji – The state unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced Joseph Jesus Gabriel Pimenta as the INDIA Alliance candidate for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat bypoll in Benaulim, scheduled for June 23rd.
Joseph Pimenta, a 43-year-old businessman and social worker from Orlim village, holds a diploma in hotel management and is a former seafarer. He joined AAP with his supporters during the recent Lok Sabha campaign in support of the victorious INDIA Alliance candidate, Capt Viriato Fernandes. Pimenta’s wife, Nifa Pimenta, a former Deputy Sarpanch in the same panchayat, has been actively involved in various social, educational, religious, and sports activities in Orlim village.
The announcement was made at a press conference attended by State President Adv. Amit Palekar, Benaulim MLA Capt Venzy Viegas, General Secretary Adv. Surel Tilve, Working President Valmiki Naik, and the candidate Joseph Pimenta.
