Panaji, February 10, 2025: YUVA Panaji successfully hosted the inaugural Jyeshtha Nagrik Anandotsav 2025 on February 9 at Sala de Gaspar, Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar. This unique event, dedicated to honoring and celebrating the contributions of senior citizens, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 seniors across Goa.
Organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, and supported by the Rotary Club of Dona Paula, the event featured a wide array of engaging activities. Participants showcased their talents through storytelling, monologue performances, group dances, solo singing, and creative competitions, including rangoli, vegetable carving, and sweet dish-making.
The overwhelming response and positive feedback from attendees underscored the importance of such initiatives in fostering an inclusive and joyful space for the elderly. Many senior citizens expressed gratitude for the opportunity to relive cherished memories and display their skills.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by BJP Goa State President Shri Damu Naik as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he praised YUVA Panaji for its efforts in creating a meaningful platform for senior citizens and extended his full support to the initiative. He also urged YUVA to organize similar programs in Margao, South Goa, and encouraged more youth to join the movement. Remembering Late Shri Manohar Parrikar, he lauded his initiative of providing financial assistance to senior citizens and homemakers in Goa.
Prominent YUVA members, including Founder Shri Raghuvir Mahale, Past President Shri Sarvesh Shetye, and President Shri Shashank Sukhthankar, were present at the event. The function was hosted by Mrs. Shivani Shetye, who also proposed the vote of thanks.
YUVA Panaji extended heartfelt appreciation to all participants, supporters, and volunteers for making Jyeshtha Nagrik Anandotsav 2025 a resounding success.
