Panaji: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Monday criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for his comments on the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, accusing the opposition party of harboring deep-seated hatred for “Sanatan Hindu Sanskruti.”
Addressing a Congress rally in Madhya Pradesh, Kharge questioned whether taking a holy dip in the Ganga during the Mahakumbh could alleviate poverty in the country.
Reacting to the statement, Sawant said, “Shame on INC President Mallikarjun Kharge. Hatred for Sanatan Hindu Sanskruti is deeply rooted in Congress, and they habitually express it in public. I strongly condemn these insulting remarks.”
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the Mahakumbh by taking a holy dip in the Ganga, underscoring its significance.
