goaplusnewsPANAJI: In the past 24 hours, Goa Police have registered several cases across the state. In Bicholim, a case of abduction has been filed after a woman went missing from her residence in September. Colvale Police busted a matka gambling operation, arresting one accused with cash and gambling materials.
South Goa reported three unnatural deaths, including a decomposed body in Sancoale, a beggar found dead in Vasco, and a fatal motorcycle accident in Cuncolim. Additionally, Agacaim Police solved a robbery case in Siridao, arresting a 37-year-old accused involved in snatching gold jewelry from an elderly woman. Investigations in all cases are ongoing.
Bicholim: Abduction Case Registered After Wife Goes Missing
The Bicholim Police have registered an abduction case under Section 140(3) of the BNS after a man reported that his wife was abducted from their residence on 19th September 2024. Despite a missing person report being filed earlier, the accused remains unidentified, and investigations are ongoing.
Colvale: Matka Gambling Operation Busted
A matka gambling operation was busted near Assonora bus stand on 2nd December. Dattaram Sitaram Chari (41) was caught red-handed accepting bets and issuing slips. ₹1,550 in cash and gambling paraphernalia were seized. Chari was arrested and later released on bail, with PSI Sunny Kanekar leading the investigation.
Verna: Decomposed Body Found in Sancoale Farm
A decomposed male body, estimated to be between 40-45 years old, was discovered in a coconut farm near Shantadurga Temple, Sancoale. The body has been preserved for identification, with PSI Nikhil Dessai conducting the investigation.
Vasco: Beggar Found Dead Near Fakir Galli
An unidentified male, believed to be a beggar aged 45-50, was found dead on a footpath near Mangoor Hill, Vasco. Authorities have ruled out foul play, and the body is being preserved for further identification and post-mortem.
Cuncolim: Fatal Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of 30-Year-Old
Sairaj Kerkar (30) of Curchorem succumbed to injuries after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a cashew tree at Quital Fatorpa. His body has been sent for medico-legal formalities, with PSI Sudan Bhosle leading the case.
A robbery reported on 12th November at Modlo Wado, Siridao, has been solved with the arrest of Rajesh Mapari (37). The accused allegedly snatched gold earrings worth ₹10,000 from an elderly woman after attempting to steal her chain. PSI Shubham Korgaonkar is handling the investigation.
