Rohan A Khaunte, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C), ensured that Daksh R Polji, a young boy from Corgao Pernem,Goa received lifelong internet connectivity. Mr. Daksh, a differently-abled student, had faced considerable difficulties in pursuing his studies due to the absence of internet access in his remote home.
In response to the Minister’s initiative, Mr. Neville Noronha, OSD to the Minister of DoITE&C, and Mr. Sagar Govekar, Managing Director of Ethernet Xpress, personally visited Daksh’s home to oversee the installation of a reliable Wi-Fi connection. Their visit underlines a strong commitment to bridging the digital divide in Goa’s most remote areas and advancing inclusive education and digital empowerment.
Mr. Daksh expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am thankful to IT Minister Shri. Rohan Khaunte and Ethernet Xpress for making this possible and giving me free Wi-Fi.”
Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Shri. Rohan Khaunte remarked, “Today, we are proud to bring connectivity to this remote corner of Pernem. It’s inspiring to see how our efforts can make a real difference. Our goal is to extend this vision across Goa, fulfilling the promise of ‘Har Ghar Fiber’ and ensuring that every household, regardless of location, has access to the digital world. This is a monumental step towards achieving comprehensive last-mile connectivity and ensuring every child has the resources they need to succeed.”
The Minister’s prompt action, along with the support from Ethernet Xpress, shows a profound commitment to advancing digital accessibility and inclusivity throughout Goa.
