MADGANVCHO AWAAZ URGES CM FOR RESCUE PLAN FOR MARGAO

Margao – Margao Municipality, under the control of defector MLA Digambar Kamat, continues to neglect basic civic duties that directly impact the safety and mobility of citizens. A clear example is the hazardous tree branches that remain uncleared, obstructing footpaths and endangering persons with disabilities, women, senior citizens, and children. These are not minor inconveniences, they are daily threats to life and limb, stated Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.

On Sunday, I had publicly posted on social media about a specific location near the old Collectorate building where trimmed tree branches were dumped on the footpath, making it unusable for pedestrians. I had specifically urged Margao Municipality to clear the area immediately. However, it has now been four days, and shockingly, no action has been taken. This delay is unacceptable and speaks volumes about the utter apathy and inefficiency of the authorities, said Prabhav Naik.

This is not an isolated issue. It is part of a growing pattern of negligence, repeated collapse of building portions, fire incidents, landslides, flooding, all pointing to a dangerous decline in civic management and disaster preparedness, stated Prabhav Naik.

Madganvcho Awaaz calls upon Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to stop ignoring the worsening situation in Margao and to urgently announce a Rescue Plan for the town. This plan must focus on citizen safety, infrastructural audit, emergency response systems, and immediate corrective action, not bureaucratic paperwork or cosmetic announcements, Prabhav Naik said.

Margao needs action, not excuses. Citizens deserve safe streets, responsive governance, and accountable leadership. We will continue to raise our voice until people are put before politics, said Prabhav Naik.
