Panaji: Goa Pradesh Youth Congress on Saturday protested against the Bihar government for manhandling and stopping Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi from meeting ‘dalit’ students at Ambedkar Hostel in Darbhanga, Bihar.

GPYC members shouted slogans ‘Rok Sako to Rok lo’ in support of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Members said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed to a caste census “out of fear” of the country’s deprived population.

GPYC Working President Mahesh Nadar said that BJP has stopped so low that they used government machinery to stop Leader of Opposition from meeting students. “What fear does the BJP have? Are they afraid that Rahul Gandhi will expose them more on their corruption and how they are selling assets to crony capitalist?,” Nadar questioned.

He said that the BJP’s actions are concerning, as they allegedly used government machinery to prevent the Leader of Opposition from meeting students.

“This raises questions about their fear of exposure. Are they trying to hide corruption and crony capitalism? It’s ironic that a government supposed to serve the people seems more focused on shielding itself from scrutiny,” he said.

“We know that officials are forced to act against democratic values and against opposition. BJP can’t suppress our voice. We will fight till we get justice, peace and till we restore our democracy, which was killed by BJP,” Nadar said.

GPYC North Goa district president Rinaldo Rosario said that BJP is misusing power and trying to create hurdles. “we condemn the Bihar Government for stopping Rahul Gandhi from meeting students. He has the position of Leader of Opposition, but still the BJP government is trying to curtail his rights,” Rosario said.

“Students are the future of the nation. But BJP is not giving them enough opportunities. They are deprived of their rights. BJP should stop this Dadagiri first,” he said.
