Mauxi Strengthens Education and Waste Management Infrastructure with Two Key Development Initiatives

Mauxi, Sattari, Goa: In a significant step towards strengthening village-level infrastructure, Mauxi in Sattari has taken forward two important initiatives focused on digital education and scientific waste management, the inauguration of the renovated Village Panchayat Library and the Material Recovery Facility (MRF).

The renovated Village Panchayat Library at Mauxi, developed at a cost of ₹15 lakh, has been undertaken under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2023–24, for Children and Adolescents’ Libraries and Digital Infrastructure. The renovation includes civil works, furniture, electrical improvements, and the provision of a computer and television.

The upgraded library aims to provide children, adolescents and students with an improved environment for reading, learning and accessing digital resources. With technology becoming an increasingly important part of education, the facility will help promote digital literacy, support academic development and encourage a culture of reading and lifelong learning among young people.

In another important development, the ₹25 lakh Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at Village Panchayat Mauxi has been inaugurated under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 (Gramin). The facility will support the systematic segregation, sorting and recovery of recyclable waste, strengthening waste management at the village level. It is expected to help reduce indiscriminate dumping, improve waste disposal practices and encourage greater community participation in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

Both initiatives reflect the importance of investing in essential village infrastructure that directly benefits local communities. While the renovated library creates better opportunities for education and digital empowerment, the MRF promotes environmental responsibility and sustainable waste management.
